Welcome to my website. I am a licensed bilingual (Spanish and English) psychotherapist with 25 years of experience working with adults who come from a wide variety of cultural backgrounds and who are struggling with emotional distress.
I specialize in trauma-focused psychotherapy. I work with survivors of sexual assault, childhood sexual and physical abuse, and intimate partner/domestic violence, as well as other victims of crimes. I also work with individuals who are struggling with depression and anxiety or life transitions. Additionally I work with couples and the many challenges and transtions that come in their journey.
I have a Master’s degree in Social Work from New York University and certifications in Psychodynamic Psychotherapy and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). I have extensive experience in various forms of psychodynamic and cognitive-behavioral therapy and in facilitating clinical groups.
In addition to being a therapist and clinical supervisor for social work graduate students, I also provide educational workshops and trauma-sensitivity trainings for mental health practitioners, law enforcement personnel, and other professionals.
